Personally we love a good breaky and can not wait to have another fantastic eatery in Brisbane dishing out something worth gettin' our asses out of bed for on a Sunday morning...ooh, we just know it's gonna be so good!!

But we'll share a little insiders tip with you...all the best Winter jumpers come in early...last season similar styles just flew out the door this early...trying to find a beautiful knit in the middle of Winter is near impossible...

...you know what they say...something about an early bird?!

Our fav so far...the gorgeous super soft pale grey wool alpaca blend knit has an amazing coloured fleck throughout...love the little button loop detail at the neck...and super subtle elbow patches!!

Mmmm...burnt apricot and lavender crochet in a lovely cotton linen blend...loving the slouchy style balanced out by the skinny sleeve...

Over the years Aesop has built up such a loyal following both here in Australia and overseas as well...it's almost impossible not to have come across the product somewhere along the line...and as far as skin care is concerned, Aesop is considered one of the best...

Miss Mouse is full of all the things we love and use so it was no surprise when we began stocking the famous brand (plus we were too lazy to go in to the city to buy it for ourselves!!)....so you know we just love it when they bring out new products!!

The yummy Geranium Leaf Body Scrub is a winner for Summer...especially if you love a bit of sun like we do!

Since it's inception in 1987 in Melbourne, the Aesop love has spread far and wide...and the French seem to have almost taken it as there own...maybe it's the simple sophisticated quality...maybe it's because the packaging is mostly in French...who knows...but they love it as much as we do!!

There's nothing quite as satisfying as going to the flower markets and standing there for eternity (which is what it feels like when you drag your husband along!) while you go over in your head whether said flowers really match that little corner of the rug in your lounge room...

...now before you get all thinkin' we're totally obsessive compulsive nuts (just a bit)...we're not quite that anal...although the whole process when it comes to choosing flowers is so very therapeutic really...

Dee inspired my love of flower arrangements with her stunning displays every week in MM...and once you start mastering the art at home, well don't you just feel so grown up?!

I wish I could say Dee's love of cooking rubbed off on me...but alas, unless Jamie Oliver's comin' round to cut and prep the meal I'm really not that "interested"...for now I'm happy just to devour whatever she makes!!

For us, it's Love Coco by Honore Des Pres...that perfectly blended aroma of fresh coconuts and just a hint of coriander...mmm, it gets us every time!!

Yep, Dee and I wear the same perfume...it's a little odd...although when we rock up to work wearing almost identical outfits...that's a whole new level of "on the same wave length"...what can we say...we just love the same things...good taste comes in pairs!;)

A Summer Garden

Several weeks ago I discovered a photograph of my mother

sitting in the sun, her face flushed as with achievement or triumph.

The sun was shining. The dogs

were sleeping at her feet where time was also sleeping,

calm and unmoving as in all photographs.

I wiped the dust from my mother’s face.

Indeed, dust covered everything; it seemed to me the persistent

haze of nostalgia that protects all relics of childhood.

In the background, an assortment of park furniture, trees and shrubbery.

The sun moved lower in the sky, the shadows lengthened and darkened.

The more dust I removed, the more these shadows grew.

Summer arrived. The children

leaned over the rose border, their shadows

merging with the shadows of the roses.

A word came into my head, referring

to this shifting and changing, these erasures

that were now obvious—

it appeared, and as quickly vanished.

Was it blindness or darkness, peril, confusion?

Summer arrived, then autumn. The leaves turning,

the children bright spots in a mash of bronze and sienna.

Mothers Of The Disappeared Exhibition...

We have some very exciting news...Miss Mouse is holding it's first art exhibition!

A very special friend of ours, Rachael Cassells will be exhibiting a collection of her work upstairs at Miss Mouse

The exhibition features a short film that Rachael has put together featuring photographs of Mothers who have lost their daughters in violent disappearances in the Mexican town of Ciudad Juarez. This exhibition will be delivered in short film format and features the voice of Natasha Khan from Bat for Lashes telling the stories of the Mothers.

The exhibition will coincide with National Stop Violence Against Women Week.

The exhibition will be held on Tuesday 29th November @

6pm (will screen three times consecutively from 6pm - duration 23:15 with drinks and nibbles provided afterwards)

There will be a donation bowl at the door to raise money for the mothers of the disappeared.

We look forward to seeing you all on the night!

What a fantastic day yesterday!

We celebrated Melbourne Cup this year in true Australian style....at The Southbank Surf Club...the food was AMAZING and the champagne was flowing...priorities!!

The atmosphere was so relaxing and casual and The Surf Club was the perfect setting for our very first MM fashion parade....the sun came out just in time for our gorgeous gals to show off all the beautiful clothes.

Well, it's that time of year again.....it's racing season....Melbourne Cup is upon us!!

Horses...champagne...lunch with your best friends....it's all very lovely....but really...for us, it's all about putting on a stunning new dress and a great pair of heels....and even though we LOVE fashion, we always leave it to the last minute to plan our outfits...let's face it, we'd rather be having a glass of wine on the back deck than fussing around in our wardrobes!

To us, there's no better way to listen to music than on vinyl...it's the hunt for that next great find...whether it's a new release from one of your fav bands or discovering an old record in all it's battered glory...sure MP3's are great, you can take them anywhere, but they're so uninspiring...and there's CD's, but they just take up way too much real estate...and do you even remember the last time you sat down and admired the artwork on a CD cover?

So on that note (pardon the pun;), this is what's on high rotation at our place this week....

13th Floor Elevators were one of the first psychedelic bands of the late 60's, hailing from Austin, Texas...

The first Kills album, Keep On Your Mean Side, is always at the top of the pile...

And local Brissie boys Grand Atlantic have just released their latest album on vinyl for the first time...it's just a bit fabulous!

And really, you can read a book on your Iphone now too...but remember that "old book" smell...isn't it so much sweeter and kind of romantic to own a little piece of history in such a throw away society?

We were soooo super excited today when Will, from US denim label AG, came in and showed us his brand new Summer denims....light and easy, their a little bit surfer girl....and you know we're lovin' a bit of that right now!!!

We always look forward to this time of year...not only does the weather change, but our mood seems to lift...just like the colours in our wardrobe. Doesn't it feel so uplifting and freeing to shed those Winter layers in favour of something a little lighter?! See, those snakes are on to something!;)
